Call Center / Customer Service
CenturyNovelty.com, one of the fastest growing pure play e-retailers of party supplies, favors & decorations, currently seeks a part-time Telephone/Email/Live Chat Customer Service & Sales Representative for their Westland, MI Corporate Office. This is a not a temporary or seasonal position. This is a great part-time opportunity for a College student, recent graduate, or anyone looking for extra income selling fun party supplies and favors.
Compensation: Starts at $8.50/hr. Raises at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year
Assist customers by answering questions about products and orders via telephone, email and live chat
Help customers make selections by building customer confidence, while offering suggestions and opinions
Guide customers click-by-click through the Website using Microsoft Internet Explorer and the telephone
Work on projects and other duties as assigned
Skills / Qualifications
Desire to provide excellent customer service
Must be available Monday – Friday 8 AM – 7 PM
Previous call center/phone customer service is REQUIRED
Confidence in using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Internet Explorer/Firefox
Fast and accurate typing. Minimum of 65 words per minute (take a free typing test here)
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expect half of your customer communications to be on the phone and the other half via email/live chat.
History of punctuality and good attendance
Advanced computer and phone knowledge
Ability to defuse difficult customers by utilizing strong negotiation skills and appropriate empathy
Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast paced, constantly evolving, team environment
High school diploma or equivalent a must
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required
This is not a temporary/holiday job. This is a permanent position.
No cold calling or telemarketing is involved
Must pass a skills test of the previously listed qualifications
Must complete/pass a criminal background investigation, credit check and drug screen prior to hire
